small envelope dated July 1st 1841 and sent and signed on the front
by CHARLES DICKENS. Endorsed 'Free' as at the time, Dickens was a
Parliamentary Correspondent for the Morning Post. However the
privilege only applied to MPs so a 1d plate 8 ME was affixed and
delivery finally made on 3rd July. Minor cover imperfections,
beautiful and rare item by the man whose characters feature strongly
on several caricatures, and an employer of John Leech, Phiz etc
. |

Henry Vizetelly, of Fleet Street. He was the Paris correspondent of
